CeBIT: Firmware 5.0 confirmed!
Thursday March 10, 2005 - It's official: in a few weeks we'll be able to navigate using brand new firmware for the TomTom GO! Software update 5.0 is coming!
There's been a lot of speculation about it the last few months: will there ever be another software-update for the GO and if so, when? And if it ever ships, what will be new and improved? Does TomTom take us seriously and have they looked at our list of most wanted features?
Today the incertitude ends! Only just, TomTom announced the new firmware at the annual CeBIT IT fair. Version 5.0 will be released by the end of March/mid-April. The software will be free for download from the TomTom website, as always. Of course, we'll keep you informed about the final release date.
So...
Now that TomTom has broken the silence, we can now confirm what we've known for a while now: yes, TomTom does take it's users serious! Very serious indeed! And yes, a lot of our wishes are fulfilled with the new 5.0 update!
