The first official figures since TomTom went public on May 27th are not to be sneezed at. The company's last quarter has been nothing short of excellent.
In this last quarter, the turnover rose to 114,8 million euro (=78.6 million UKP), which is an increase of more than 70% when compared to the first quarter of this year. Then the turnover was 66,2 million euro (=45.32 million UKP). Compared to a year ago, the turnover has risen 221%! The profits have also risen with 61% compared to the first quarter, to the nice figure of 22.1 million euro (=15.13 million UKP). This is an increase of more than 300% compared to last year.
The figures also tell us that TomTom has sold 262.447 TomTom GO's in the last quarter. Most of that number can be accredited to the GO300, since the 500 and 700 have only been shipping for a short while.
TomTom expects it's turnover to triple in the year 2005. Not so long ago TomTom "only" expected it to double.
